I am a Singaporean who grew up in Singapore – lived there, was educated there, worked there – until nine days after my 29th birthday, when I moved to Bali. The reason for my move was to be with the man who is now my husband, as he was then already living in Bali.

I had always wanted to live overseas. It has been a dream of mine since I was a young girl, and my imagination about other places was fuelled by books, television programmes and movies. One of the ways I devised for realising this dream was trying to convince my parents to let me get a college degree overseas. Did not happen due to financial reasons and family issues.

Now that I am living in another country other than Singapore, I can better appreciate all the things that I had overlooked or taken for granted when still living in Singapore. At the same time, the things that I was slightly bothered by when living in Singapore have become more pronounced when I have another place for comparison.

This blog will attempt to record my experiences in my new home, Bali.
